Police: 23-year-old motorcycle driver dies after Stamford collision
A man has died after a crash involving a motorcycle and a car just after 7 p.m. in Stamford Friday.
Investigators say that a motorcycle was driving southbound on High Ridge Road Friday evening when it crossed the road’s center line and collided with a Honda Accord.
The impact caused the motorcycle driver, a 23-year-old from Stamford, to be thrown from his vehicle and off the roadway. The motorcycle also then caught fire, police said.
The motorcycle driver, who has not been identified by name, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda driver, a 63-year-old from Stamford, remained at the scene and was not injured.
High Ridge Road was closed between Interlaken and Bird Song Lane following the incident.
