A group of suspects who looted cash machines and dumped them into the sea have been arrested, according to Bridgeport police.
Police say at least three men were stealing ATMs from stores across western Connecticut, then concealed their crimes by dumping the cash machines into the Long Island Sound once they'd taken out the money.
Investigators say an officer spotted the vehicle wanted in connection with this case on Thursday, and pulled over the driver.  Police arrested Eddie Ferra, 26, and Luis Lopez, 25, in connection with the thefts.
Police Chief AJ Perez says officers seized some of the stolen cash machines before the bandits could dump them into the water.
Perez says the suspects have been operating for months in Bridgeport, Trumbull, Fairfield, Stratford and more.
Authorities say a tip led them to one location where some of the cash machines were recovered.
