Police: Suspects stole $800 worth of merchandise from Shelton Walmart

Five people have been arrested and charged following a shoplifting incident at a Walmart in Shelton.
It happened on Bridgeport Avenue.
According to police, Monica Santos, Trisha Donaldson and Luis Torres, all of Bridgeport, entered the store and stole about $800 worth of merchandise.
Employees attempted to stop them upon exiting, but police say Santos pulled out a knife.
According to police, the three suspects got away in a car driven by Juan and Vanessa Torres, also of Bridgeport.
Police caught up with the vehicle traveling south on Route 8 and stopped it near exit 10 in Trumbull.
