September is nearly over and that means Breast Cancer Awareness Month is here.
According to Norwalk police, they will be wearing pink patches on their uniforms for the month of October.
The Pink Patch Program is a public awareness campaign observed across the U.S.
The program started in Los Angeles, with the goal to start a conversation about the importance of early detection and awareness.
Police in Fairfield are also spreading awareness with the "Pink Pledge."
They say every year, the police department has a car wrapped in pink to show support.
Maverick the K-9 helped this morning to lead the Pink Pledge march.
