Police: Troopers handled over 3,500 calls, 222 accidents, 36 DUIs over New Year’s weekend

During the holiday period, the state police have been actively engaged, handling nearly 3,500 calls for service since Friday at midnight.
Among their interventions, they issued 107 speeding tickets and 259 citations for various moving violations, including tailgating. Moreover, they provided assistance to 119 drivers on the roadside and made 36 DUI-related arrests.
Additionally, troopers responded to 222 accidents, one of which occurred in Oxford and resulted in a serious injury. These figures highlight the dedicated efforts of law enforcement in ensuring safety and managing incidents throughout the holiday period.
