Police: Wilton man killed in Route 7 crash

Police say Fred Hunter was driving in the left lane of three travel lanes in the area of Exit 2 around 12 p.m. when he drifted across all lanes and the entrance of Exit 2.

A Wilton man was killed in a crash on Route 7 southbound in Norwalk, police say.
Police say Fred Hunter was driving in the left lane of three travel lanes in the area of Exit 2 around 12 p.m. when he drifted across all lanes and the entrance of Exit 2.
The Nissan collided with the metal guardrail in the right shoulder.
Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say there was 100 feet of metal beam guardrail damage in the right shoulder.
State police are investigating the crash.
