Police: Woman fatally shot in New Canaan home; husband facing charges

New Canaan police say what was reported as an accidental shooting at a Down River Road is now being investigated as a crime.

New Canaan police say what was reported as an accidental shooting at a Down River Road is now being investigated as a crime.
They say they received the 911 call just after noon. Police say when they got to the home, they found 75-year-old Margaret Kokoth with a fatal gunshot wound.
The caller was later identified as her husband, 77-year-old Albert Kokoth, who is now accused of assault and other charges.
Albert Kokoth is being held on $1 million bail. He's expected to appear in court Friday.
Police say additional charges are expected as they continue investigating.
