Police say an 81-year-old woman was fondled by another woman inside an assisted living facility on Friday in Bedford Park.
Police say the victim was groped at the Rose Hill Apartments where she lives with her husband.
The son of the victim says he is now worried about his mother, who suffers from dementia. Her identity has not been released.
Investigators are looking for a woman in connection with the incident. They say she knocked on the victim's door saying she was from the hospital and the victim let her in.
The woman's son says when his mother went downstairs to report the sexual assault, nobody called police. Instead, she was told that management wasn't in.
Other residents of the facility say they don't know why they weren't notified about the incident by management.
News 12 approached Rose Hill management regarding the issue and was told that they are cooperating with police.
Police describe the suspect as Hispanic, around 5 feet 6 inches tall and about 135 pounds.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
