Bridgeport police say they may be close to making an arrest after a three-car crash on Friday left a woman in critical condition.
Police say the woman was one of five people in a car stopped at a light at the intersection of Railroad and Myrtle avenues. They say another car with six people inside was also stopped when a third car, a white SUV, came out of nowhere and crashed into them.
They say it is remarkable that so far, everyone has survived.
Police are investigating whether the driver of the third car may have been under the influence.
"You saw the cars, you saw the damage and only by the grace of God that nobody died that night there," says Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez.
The woman remains in critical condition at St. Vincent's Medical Center.
According to police, two of the woman's children have been released from Yale New Haven Hospital.
