The world's largest Latin chicken restaurant chain has opened two new locations in the Bronx.
Pollo Campero's two newest restaurants, located on Westchester Avenue and the Grand Concourse, opened Wednesday
The chain started as a small, family-owned restaurant in Guatemala in 1971. Since then, Pollo Campero has more than 350 restaurants worldwide.
Tim Pulido, the CEO of Pollo Campero, says their mission is to provide quality food that stays true to their Latin roots, which is one of the reasons they decided to bring the restaurant to the borough.
"For us the Bronx is the perfect neighborhood because it's very eclectic," says Pulido. "There's a vibrancy and a passion for Latin food here."
