Port Jervis police are reminding drivers to be alert for deer since it is the time of year that they are out foraging for food.
The Humane Society of the United States says deer often travel in groups. Drivers should slow down if they see one, because there are probably more nearby. Drivers should also use their high beams at night to see ahead and look for that shine of a deer's eyes, especially near the edge of the road.
