A portion of Route 25 was closed Thursday after a multicar crash took down a utility pole and power lines.
Newtown police say the accident happened near Patty's Pantry around 6 a.m.
They say four vehicles were involved in the crash in the area of South Main Street. Police say one person was trapped inside a vehicle until Eversource crews could de-energize the power lines.
Three people were transported to Danbury Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
