Power utilities say they've reached outage restoration goals

Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating officials say they have reached their goals of restoring power to between 95 and 98 percent of customers following the devastation from Hurricane Sandy.

Connecticut Light and Power and United Illuminating officials say they have reached their goals of restoring power to between 95 and 98 percent of customers following the devastation from Hurricane Sandy.
Currently, more than 9,000 residents are still without power. The utilities are asking residents to be patient with their efforts.
Gov. Dannel Malloy says he plans to keep the State Emergency Operations Center activated for the foreseeable future due to the extent of the storm's damage. He says he's also keeping an eye on the power outages.
