A Monroe police officer who beat cancer made his case Monday to return to work.
A pre-termination hearing was held for officer Andy Wall.
Wall is in his 22nd year with the police department. As News 12 has reported, he was diagnosed with brain cancer in September 2015 and given little time to live.
With the help of doctors and a clinical trial, he is cancer-free.
Wall was cleared to return to work, but the town's police chief moved ahead with dismissal proceedings.
On Monday, town officials heard arguments from both sides but did not vote.
News 12 is told the date for the next phase of the hearing will be set Wednesday.
