The Connecticut Department of Public Health says a woman who had traveled to Central America has tested positive for the Zika virus.
The DPH says the woman conceived while she was traveling. The agency says the woman has since returned to Central America.
The DPH also says it is working to contact her and her family to make sure she receives treatment while out of the country.
The state health commissioner is urging women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant to delay travel to Zika-infected countries.
The woman is the third person, and first pregnant woman, to test positive for the Zika virus in Connecticut.
