Preparation began Wednesday for Cornerstone Community Church's annual community Thanksgiving luncheon.
Volunteers peeled and cut up vegetables on Wednesday.
On Friday, more volunteers will cook the vegetables and other items.
The free luncheon will be held on Sunday at the church, located on West Avenue in Norwalk and will include the traditional foods, drinks, desserts, music and children's activities.
Volunteers say they look forward to helping out each year.
"In today's world, it's an opportunity to feel good for a while," says Stuart Garrelick.
"It's a good feeling hopefully its helping somebody out. People are very thankful and gracious and so forth. it's nice to see their faces and know they're getting a meal and feeling good," says Bruce Root, a church member.
The luncheon will be first come and first serve. It will have two seatings, one at 12 and the second at 1 p.m.
