Retired Episcopalean priest Father Deming says the rescue of his friend by Orange police officers Jeff Platek and Jonathan DeRubeis was priceless.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Deming says a fire started his home, where he pulled his mother and wife to safety. He says he then called 911 not knowing where his friend was at the time.
Police say the two officers showed up in exactly 90 seconds and broke through a glass door to save the man trapped inside.
"A house can always be built, possessions can always be obtained again, but life is a one time gift," says Deming.
Officials say the fire was put out quickly, and the house is salvageable.
