Stratford-based Sikorsky's newest heavy lift helicopter - the CH-53K King Stallion - is reportedly facing some technical difficulties.
The Navy is expected to buy 200 of the aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps in a program that could be worth $25 billion, but published reports say it had its first flight delayed due to gearbox problems.
The Wall Street Journal reported last week that United Technologies Corp. is near a deal with Lockheed Martin to sell Sikorsky.
