Greenwich High School students protested Monday over what they say is a local and national problem of police discrimination against minorities.
About 70 students staged what is being called a "die-in" outside of the school in a courtyard, in which the students laid on the ground and pretended to be dead.
The event adds to the nationwide protests against the grand jury decisions not to indict police officers in the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
Student government president Blake Reinken says he would like to start a dialogue with local police about race relations. "It's something that needs to be addressed," he says.
Greenwich police say they have worked hard to build good relationships with all communities in town. However, they say they are happy to discuss any issues with the students.
