Less than four weeks until its season begins, Sacred Heart does not have a starting quarterback. Four signal callers are vying for the job, according to Pioneers head coach Mark Nofri. It's a battle between graduate student Rob McCoy, Delaware transfer Cade Pribula, senior Mike Burke, and Newtown native Jack Street.
The Pioneers have faced similar situations in the past like in 2013 with RJ Noel, and 2017 with Kevin Duke. Noel helped lead SHU to a share of the NEC title in 2013.
"I've gone through this before, but whoever it is, you've got to make sure they're prepared and they're ready to take the keys to the car and run the show. They all bring something different, and they've all gotten better since the Spring and that's all we're looking for," said Nofri.
Sacred Heart opens the season at home on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Lafayette.
