Police say a man was arrested for a burglary that took place last January at a Westport home.
The homeowners reported they returned Jan. 8 from an afternoon and evening out and found their home had been forcibly entered, presumably through a first-floor window that had been broken.
Investigators say jewelry and designer handbags were stolen, with a total loss estimated over $50,000.
They say blood was found at the home near the initial point entry as well as on other items that had presumably been handled while searching the home.
Officers say a blood match was found, and they issued an arrest warrant for 30-year-old Diego Hernandez-Corba, from Queens.
Hernandez-Corba was arraigned July 18 in Stamford Superior Court and is being held on a $30,000 bond.
