FORECAST:
Today was the last summer-like day and now big changes are underway.
A sharp cold front will move through and bring much needed rain into Western Connecticut tonight.
The rain will move through overnight and into Wednesday morning. Rainfall totals will range from 0.5 inch to up to 1 inch. The morning commute will be damp and breezy. Watch for wet leaves, as those could become very slippery.
Temperatures will stay mild for now with morning low temperatures in the 60s. Temperatures don't warm up much, and afternoon highs will top out in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
The winds will change direction in the afternoon and bring in much cooler air. Temperatures will fall sharply into the 40s at night, with even colder temperatures for Thursday morning.
The weather will feel more fall-like with sunshine afternoon temperatures in the 60s.
There may be more rain heading our way over the weekend with a coastal storm. There is a lot of uncertainty regarding the weekend forecast and how the pattern unfolds. Stay with News 12 CT for more details.
