Hundreds of people rallied at Stratford?s Town Hall Saturday to bring attention to police brutality and civil injustice.
Clergy members, civil rights leaders and lawmakers spoke at the event, but Marcia Mitchell Davis seemed to draw the biggest crowd. Davis accused a Stratford police officer of using excessive force when he arrested her 15-year-old daughter. Participants say the issue of racial tensions reaches beyond color and should be addressed so Stratford can become a cohesive community.
Local law enforcement, state police and the FBI provided security at the rally after white supremacist groups vowed to show up.
