Fairfield police say they are on the lookout for a group of thieves who have been stealing license plates from cars in town.
Police say they are investigating a number of reports that license plates have been stolen from cars.
They say in the last year alone it has happened 24 times.
Police say criminals use the plates to put them on an unregistered or stolen car.
Police encourage victims of stolen license plates to contact them as soon as possible.
