The Greater Hartford area is ranked among the top three
places to buy a home in the country, according to a RE/MAX realty company
surveyed 53 metropolitan areas.
The Hartford area joins San Francisco and Billings, Montana
for hot markets to live in. Realtors in the area say this has been the busiest
they have been in over 15 years.
Joanne Breen, the President of the Connecticut Realtors
Association, believes the affordability of the area and buyers re-evaluating
their current homes contributed to the uptick in movers relocating there.
"Over the last few years, we saw some people leaving
the state looking for greener pastures, I'm hoping they'll realize now, this is
where the green pastures are,” she told News 12.
Gov. Ned Lamont says Connecticut is also in the top three of
states with the most incoming people.
"The fact that we have done such a reversal and are a
top three of incoming populations says a lot," he says.
He added that Connecticut is a perfect place to move to
during a pandemic due to the accessibility to parks and open spaces.
