Recently arrested New Canaan officer brought up on charges linked to animal cruelty

A New Canaan police officer recently arrested on illegal weapons and explosives charges is now facing animal cruelty charges.

A New Canaan police officer recently arrested on illegal weapons and explosives charges is now facing animal cruelty charges.
Naugatuck police revealed at least 10 dogs at Black Rock Canines were shot, killed and then buried on the property. General Manager Daniel Luna was arrested on charges as well, including unlawful euthanization of a canine and cruelty to animals.
New Canaan Officer, and the owner of the facility, David Rivera Jr. is now facing charges for conspiracy to commit cruelty to animals, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to commit euthanization of a canine.
Rivera Jr. was placed on administrative leave from New Canaan Police Department following his prior arrest.
