Redding PD hopes to ID credit card fraud suspect
Redding police are asking for the public's help to find a suspect responsible for stealing a credit card and racking up thousands of dollars in charges all over western Connecticut.
Police provided surveillance pictures of a woman using the card. They say she is usually in the company of a juvenile and another woman with a child.
They say the card was used at several fast food restaurants and pharmacies in Norwalk and Stamford.
Redding Police Chief Doug Fuchs says he hopes one day there will be a more effective way to check who's using credit cards. He says credit cards should have embedded images of the owner right on the card in an effort to prevent fraud.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to call Redding police at 203-938-3400.
