Reka, rare Amur tiger, staying at Beardsley Zoo until November
A rare Amur tiger slated to leave the Beardsley Zoo will now stay until November, officials announced today.
Zoo officials say due to a scheduling issue with Reka’s transfer, the tiger will no longer be leaving this week.
Reka is being transferred as part of a national effort by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums called the Species Survival Plan. The goal is to save endangered species through breeding.
Her move date has been postponed until November.
