Governor Jodi Rell (R-CT) issued a drought advisory across the state Friday, asking everyone to cut back on water usage.
Officials say water levels, both above and below ground, are down across southwestern Connecticut due to low rainfall totals over the past few months. Total are down by more than 30 percent.
Servicemen at Marinos Waterworks say they have been flooded with calls from homeowners saying their wells are drying up for the past 10 days.
?This time of year is usually hurricane season. We really rely on the rain that way. We're just way down,? Tom Ford of Marinos Waterworks said.
Mandatory restrictions have not been issued.
