Gov. Jodi Rell held two conference calls Thursday to update municipalities on steps the state is taking in response to possible cases of swine flu.
Stamford's emergency management director, police, fire and EMS all listened as the governor stressed that now is the time for caution and preparation, not panic and overreaction.
"I think we're very much on top of it," Rell says. "We do realize that probably every state will be affected by this."
With preventive actions, including twice daily updates from the state Department of Public Health, Rell says that the state's Web site provides the most updated information for those who are concerned or have questions regarding swine flu.
