Himes toured the clinic at the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities.
The Fairfield Health Department was one of the first in the state to start vaccinating seniors 75 and older under Phase 1B through their clinics at the senior center.
Himes says while he's impressed by the hard work of the staff who made that possible, there's no denying the demand for vaccines across the state far outnumbers the supply right now.
Himes met with Fairfield Health Director Sands Clearly, First Selectwoman Brenda Kupchick, state Sen. Tony Hwang and state Rep. Jen Leeper.
Kupchick says more than 3,000 people have been vaccinated at the clinic so far.
President Joe Biden announced states will receive an additional 1.4 million vaccines a week starting next week.
Himes plans on visiting a vaccination clinic in Weston tomorrow.
He says he's trying to gather as much information as possible to convey to the federal government what resources Connecticut needs.
