Property owners in the south Bronx say dirt and dust in their neighborhood is keeping investors away.

Michael Pollack, a neighborhood property owner, says the dirt and dust comes from a transfer station run by the city's Department of Sanitation. According to Pollack, more than 100 trucks come through each day, hindering the possibility of development.

"This area could be the meat packing district with clubs [and] bars providing thousands of jobs," Pollack says.

Pollack, whose family has owned real estate in the south Bronx for 20 years, believes the solution is simple.

"Hybrids could solve 40 percent of the problem," he says.

The Department of Sanitation says they try to clean the area as much as possible, and they are looking into the possibility of purchasing hybrid trucks for the future.
