Local leaders are calling on the MTA to improve some bus lines after residents in Riverdale complained about them.
People say the Bx7 and Bx10 buses don't run often enough, causing huge crowds at certain stops. Some bus riders say they have waited up to 45 minutes for these buses, causing them to be late for work in the morning and even late to pick up their kids.
State Sen. Jeff Klein and Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz are now asking the MTA to add more buses to these lines after hearing a lot of complaints from the community. They say they have sent many letters to the MTA requesting additional bus service, but nothing has changed.
News 12 The Bronx reached out to the MTA. The agency said that according to its analysis, the bus service in the area is fine. It also said it will continue to monitor these lines in hope of finding some way to help the situation.
