The MTA is responding to a petition from Bronx residents living near the Pelham Parkway who want something to be done about a bus stop they say is dangerous and inconvenient.
Commuters say the BxM11 bus stop on the corner of Boston Road and Thwaites Place is isolated, poorly lit and too far for people who live on the south side of the parkway.
The MTA moved the centrally located stop from White Plains Road to its current location, on the parkway's north side. They told News 12 the change was made to alleviate delays and avoid having buses make awkward turns between train pillars.
The MTA also says the intersection at Thwaites Place has the proper signals to prove safe crossing for commuters.
