New York state is considering safety plans to reopen casinos, including the cash-strapped Resorts World Catskills in Monticello.
Meghan Taylor, the vice president of community relations, says the casino has submitted a “21-point safety plan” to be reviewed by the state.
"We are excited to welcome people here and we are ready," she told News 12.
The casino was cash-strapped before the pandemic hit and reported millions of dollars in losses since it opened in 2018.
Even as the Malaysian-owned company has 1,200 employees on furlough, it's investing even more to get back to business – including plexiglass panels at tables and slots and enhanced safety protocols.
It’s not yet clear when the Resorts World Casino will be given the go-ahead to open.
