Retired flight attendant retraces path to Ground Zero in memory of lost colleagues

A retired flight attendant is once again honoring the flight crews lost on Sept. 11 by pushing an airline beverage cart along the flight paths of the planes.
Paul Veneto, of “Paulie’s Push,” lost friends and colleagues in the attacks and has spent years keeping their memories alive through the unique tribute.
"Every time I talk about it, I get emotional. They weren't trained to do what they did. They were heroes up there, they really were," Veneto told News 12.
This year, Veneto is joined by several additional beverage carts, allowing members of the community to take part in the journey.
The tribute made a stop in Port Chester on Monday as Veneto traveled from Boston to Ground Zero.
Veneto said the journey is driven by a commitment to honor and remember those who were killed.
“I knew what I had to do. It’s not a big deal for me to push this cart,” Veneto said. “Once I start, I know I’m going to Ground Zero.”
Paulie’s Push is scheduled to conclude Friday at Ground Zero.
