State police say retired K-9 Roso died peacefully on Wednesday after a recent medical diagnosis.

K-9 Roso served alongside his handler, the late Trooper First Class Aaron Pelletier, who was struck and killed during a traffic stop in Southington last year.

K-9 Roso was a graduate of both the 223rd Patrol K-9 Class and the 225th Firearms Detection K-9 Class.

Police say K-9 Roso exemplified loyalty, bravery and service and was a beloved companion and family member.
