Rev. Al Sharpton says he will lead a march in Bridgeport next weekend.
Organizers of the "Peace for Justice March" say the rally will start at the Baker Isaac Funeral Home on Stratford Avenue at 10 a.m. Saturday and end at the Morton Government Center.
"One of the things that we want to do is address and tackle the systemic racism that we have institutionalized within our system," says Dr. Herron Gaston, a reverent at Summerfield United Methodist Church. "And finding a way, in which we can speak to those realities to dismantle that through policy."
Organizers are urging the public to join in the march, which aims to create changes in the Bridgeport Police Department and the community.
