Ridgefield man and 2 others found guilty of felony, misdemeanor charges related to Capitol riots

A judge found Patrick McCaughey guilty on nine counts, including assault on officers using a dangerous weapon. Two other men were also found guilty.

A Ridgefield man has been convicted for his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.
A judge found Patrick McCaughey guilty on nine counts, including assault on officers using a dangerous weapon. Two other men were also found guilty.
McCaughey is seen on video pinning an officer between the door and the frame at a Capitol entrance.
McCaughey's attorney says they strongly disagree with the verdicts pertaining to the use of a dangerous or deadly weapon and will appeal the verdict.
McCaughey is to be sentenced on Jan. 26, 2023.
