The non-profit Prospector Theater in Ridgefield is a place to see a new movie, but it holds a greater importance for the people who work there.
Valerie Jensen founded the Prospector to give adults with disabilities employment opportunities.
Jensen says once you find the one thing that really excites someone, you can use it to unlock all kinds of potential.
She says there are 105 employees at the theater, and they work a range of positions including as ushers, food vendors and introducing every film.
Jensen says they receive thousands of applications from adults with disabilities who want to work at the Prospector. However, she says unfortunately they can't employ them all, but she hopes other businesses with follow their lead.
