Heavy rains put southwestern Connecticut residents on edge with flood concerns Saturday.
A flood warning continued throughout the evening. The downpours led to many waterways throughout the state rising several inches and flowing onto their banks.
The precipitation and wind caused outages for more than 1,000 homes and businesses. Some streetlights were also knocked out of commission in the process.
Residents are advised to avoid driving in heavily affected areas and to use precaution on the roads.
