Gov. Ned Lamont will honor Rolling Stones legend and longtime Connecticut resident Keith Richards on Wednesday as the inaugural recipient of the Connecticut Governor's Award of Excellence.

The award recognizes residents who embody the state's core values of creativity, resourcefulness, passion, and generosity.

In addition to the award, Lamont will present Richards with a proclamation granting him the "Key to the State" during the ceremony.
