According to police, 29-year-old Rony Mejia was crossing Pelham Parkway and White Plains Road at around 1 a.m. when he was hit by the first livery vehicle.
The driver stayed on the scene and called 911, but while waiting for paramedics, police say another livery cab struck Mejia again and then fled the scene.
Mejia was pronounced dead at Saint Barnabas Hospital. There is now a growing memorial set up outside his Baychester Avenue home.
Cops say the first cab driver will not be charged. Anyone with information about the second driver should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
