Roton Middle School held its
first ever Mental Health Fair on Monday.
Students engaged with
local mental health agencies at booths, practiced yoga, tried
rowing machines, and talked to a life coach.
The students also learned
regulation skills through animal therapy.
“Over
the years, there has been a stigma with mental health and how we aren't
supposed to talk about mental health and mental health is something we deal
with by ourselves, and we want to let the people know that it's okay to not be
okay," says Ricqul
Pratt, school counselor.
The event was held in honor
of Mental Health Awareness Month.
