Bridgeport dog lovers joined Council Member Maria Pereira Sunday morning for the unveiling of a new dog park at Success Village.
Pereira said it took her a year of hard work to get the project completed.
The attendees also got to enjoy free Italian ices from Micalizzi's.
"We have wonderful weather today for the ribbon cutting of the Success Dog Park on Granfield Avenue. It's a great addition to the neighborhood, it helps property values, it gives all these residents in dense housing a place to have their dogs run free and have fun and enjoy themselves," Pereira said.
Pereira thanked Phyllis Pierce and "Giovanni, the Performing Toy Poodle" for performing at the ceremony.
She also thanked Richard Grass from GMS Management who provided the character "Chase" from the "Paw Patrol" children's animated TV series.
