Connecticut's Mark Twain said it best: "It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog."
Sacred Heart's Ny'Ceara Pryor stands just 5 foot 3 inches, but her contributions to the Pioneers women's basketball team are immeasurable.
The Baltimore native is coming off one of the best individual seasons in college basketball history.
Pryor became the first player to take home Northeast Conference rookie of the year, player of the year and defensive player of the year all in the same season.
She led the nation in steals per game, and she was recently one of 25 players named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch list for 2023.
The sophomore guard says she plays for more than herself. "I'm from Baltimore, so I do this for a bigger cause. I want to make sure everyone in my city knows that.. they're rooting for me and I'm going to keep grinding and putting on because I'm just that kid from Baltimore who didn't give up."
Sacred Heart opens the season next Tuesday at Rhode Island.
