Santa used a fire truck as his personal sleigh today to visit families across the town of Fairfield.
St. Nick was set to visit more than 200 children at home to take pictures and even give out some gifts.
Firefighters with Fire Station 2 in Fairfield tell News 12 that this is the eighth year that Santa has hitched a ride in one of their trucks.
Officials say that families register to be on Santa's "Stop Here" list months in advance. When Santa shows up, the family donates to local charities.
Firefighters say the donations are helping three organizations this year, including the department's national charity, the burn center in Bridgeport Hospital and the Tommy Fund.
The firefighters say it is exciting to be Santa's helpers for a day and they look forward to connecting with their community each year.
