NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALERTS:

A Wind Advisory is in effect until early Friday morning for southern Westchester County. Expect sustained winds of 10-25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Winds will pick up today, towards speeds of 10-25 MPH, across the Hudson Valley. Some areas could see gusts around 40-50 MPH. As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for South Westchester County through the rest of the day.
The winds will make the temps feel into the low 20s in many spots this afternoon
A mix of sun and clouds will be expected today as yesterday's storm pulls away with high pressure moving in. Breezy winds will linger into Friday but will gradually back down.

Another system is in sight for the weekend, where some flurries are likely Saturday but snow is in sight for overnight Saturday into Sunday.
The system could bring a quick burst of snow for Sunday morning before moving offshore. Gusty winds will follow in its wake, leading to a brisk Monday.
