School officials say a student is responsible for placing segregation signs inside of a boys bathroom at Fairfield Warde High School prompting students of different races to use certain urinals.
There will be an assembly Friday at the high school after signs were found in the restroom Thursday.
In a letter to parents Thursday, Principal Paul Cavanna wrote in part, "This act of reprehensible racist prejudice will not be tolerated, and the student involved will be held accountable according to Board of Education Policy 5114 governing suspension and expulsion."
School officials say they were notified of the signs by students, and they were removed immediately.
The school says it was able to identify the student responsible for the sign, and police have been notified of the incident.
