Police are searching for two men who held up a Commerce Bank in Darien Thursday morning.
Investigators say the robbery took place at around 7:40, when the bank, located on the Norwalk/Darien town line at 55 Boston Post Road, was still closed.
According to police, the two men, one of whom was carrying a handgun, waited for workers to open the bank before forcing their way inside.
The robbers, who were described as wearing cloth masks and business-type attire, ordered the bank employees to lead them to the vault.
Police say the robbers then fled by foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Following the incident, investigators stayed at the scene, dusting the bank for fingerprints, interviewing two bank workers and canvassing the area with a K-9 unit. They're also looking through bank surveillance camera video.
?In the morning is rush hour, absolutely,? said Police Officer Tom Krois, ?and there are quite a few motorists and people coming and going. We're hoping someone saw something and can help us out in the investigation.?
